But even though it looks like Tetris, it doesn't play like it. BreakThru is original enough on its own. The idea of the game is nice. Too bad I can't say the same for the graphics and sound Oh, how annoying! Well, it IS the Game Boy. Sometimes, it's very difficult to make out the different tiles. Anyway, BreakThru won't disappoint puzzle fans. This is an interesting puzzle game that may be just what you need on a long trip.
I'd suggest it for puzzle fans--action seekers may get bored too quickly. Along the same lines of Tetris, this is one of those games that can get very addicting once you get into it The graphics and sounds are rather simple even for the Game Boy.
Not everyone's bag, but for hardcore puzzle players, it's worth a try. Take a look at this, Tetris lovers! Instead of building a wall, in this game you bring one down. Travel around the world knocking down walls with your--sledge and a little bit of help from some explosives. Sound easy? Don't be surprised if there are some obstacles to contend with in this game! The problem is, you're often left with a collection of mismatched blocks.
And therein lies this game's strategy. With respect to the graphics and sounds, BreakThru! The backgrounds that are hidden by the blocks aren't especially eye-catching, and the tiny power-ups, such as the sticks of dynamite, are hard to identify. The blocks slide and move nicely, though, adding to the appeal of the puzzle action.
BreakThrul's controls are a snap to learn, and the game's simplicity is what makes it so absorbing. Child mode is great for beginners, and one- and two-player modes, including two-player cooperative gameplay, lend plenty of variety for puzzle fanatics.
Pajitnov strikes again! This time, your goal is to make as many bricks disappear as you can before time runs out. Click on a group of same-colored bricks to remove bricks and make the wall come tumbling down. From Mobygames. Original Entry. To help you clear the wall, other items such as bombs, rockets and super bricks will come to your aid. In addition, as you progress to later stages, less friendly objects will appear in the wall. If an unknown object appears in the wall, try clicking on it. The four-colored super brick is the most confusing but most beneficial. Once you click on a super brick, the wall border will begin blinking.
Click on any brick and the remaining bricks of that same color will all disappear. Often when the wall is almost completely cleared, you'll need to use the new bricks at the top of the wall.
